Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the website allcaltools.com and every page on it. In this document, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the team that operates allcaltools; “you” means anyone visiting the site.

It does not cover any third-party website you reach by following a link from here. Once you leave allcaltools, that site’s own privacy policy governs what happens next.

2. What we do not collect

This is the most important section, so it comes first. Our calculators are written entirely in JavaScript and execute on your own device. When you enter a loan amount, a salary, a weight, a date of birth, a CGPA or an electricity reading:

• the value is never sent to our server;
• it is never written to any database of ours;
• it is never visible to us, in logs or anywhere else;
• it disappears the moment you close or reload the page.

You can verify this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use any calculator on the site. You will see no request carrying your input.

We also do not operate user accounts, so we hold no usernames, passwords, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers or payment details. We do not ask for, and cannot receive, any financial or health record.

3. What is collected automatically

Like almost every website, some technical information is recorded when a page loads. This is used to understand how the site is used and to keep it working — never to identify you personally.

Analytics

We use two analytics tools:

• Google Analytics 4 — records which pages are viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from (derived from your IP address, which Google truncates), the type of device and browser, and how visitors move between pages. It sets cookies.
• Ahrefs Web Analytics — records page views and referring sites. It is a cookieless tool and does not track individuals across sites.

Server logs

Our web server keeps standard access logs containing the requested address, a timestamp, the referring page, your browser’s user-agent string and your IP address. These are used to diagnose errors and to identify abuse or attacks, and are rotated on a short cycle.

4. Cookies and local storage

Two different mechanisms are in play, and it is worth separating them.

Cookies

The only cookies set on this site come from Google Analytics. They allow Google to tell a returning visitor from a new one, in aggregate. We set no cookies of our own, and we use no cookie for advertising or profiling.

Local storage — the currency preference

When you switch between the Indian (₹) and global ($) number format in the navigation bar, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key ci_currency_mode, with a value of either inr or usd.

This is not a cookie. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else — it exists only on your device so the site remembers your preference on the next page you open. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

Turning cookies off

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most offer a “do not track” setting. Blocking cookies will not break any calculator on this site — everything here works without them.

5. When you contact us

Our contact form has no server behind it. It composes a message and hands it to your own email application — nothing is submitted to us until you press send in your mail client, and you can edit or abandon it first.

When you do email us, we receive whatever you chose to include: your name, your email address and your message. We use it for one thing only — replying to you and fixing whatever you reported. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass your address to anyone else.

Correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful for the issue raised, and is then deleted.

6. Affiliate links and advertising

Affiliate links

Some pages — principally our phone buying guides — contain affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Following such a link takes you to the retailer’s own site, where their privacy policy applies and where they will typically set their own cookies to attribute the sale. Pages containing affiliate links say so on the page.

Advertising

Where advertising is served on this site, it is delivered by third-party ad partners who may set their own cookies or similar identifiers to measure performance and limit repeat displays. We do not give any advertiser your personal information, and we do not give any advertiser access to what you type into a calculator — that information never leaves your browser, so it is not ours to share.

7. Third parties who receive data

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. The following services necessarily receive some technical data simply because your browser loads resources from them:

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to — for example in response to a valid order from a court or a competent authority.

8. Your rights

Because we hold no account and no calculator input, in most cases there is simply no personal data of yours for us to produce, correct or erase. Where we do hold something — realistically, an email you sent us — you have the right to:

• ask what we hold about you, and receive a copy;
• ask us to correct anything inaccurate;
• ask us to delete it;
• object to our using it, or ask us to restrict that use;
• complain to your data protection regulator.

These rights are given to visitors in the European Economic Area and the UK by the GDPR, and to visitors in India by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We apply them to everyone regardless of where you are.

9. Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we operate no accounts and collect no calculator input, there is in practice nothing for a child to disclose to us. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security and retention

The site is served over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and our server is encrypted. Server logs are kept briefly and rotated. Email correspondence is deleted once the matter it concerns is closed.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but the strongest protection here is structural rather than technical: the sensitive figures you enter are never collected in the first place, so they cannot be breached, leaked or subpoenaed from us.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes — for example if we add a new analytics tool or begin serving ads through a named partner. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted on the page itself.
