A QR (Quick Response) code packs text into a grid of black-and-white squares that a camera can decode in a fraction of a second. This tool builds that grid from whatever you type in — a website address, a plain message, an email, a phone number, an SMS, or a Wi-Fi network — and then lets you restyle how the grid is drawn: the color and shape of the data dots, the shape of the three large corner markers, and an optional logo sitting in the center.

How to create your QR code, step by step

Choosing an error correction level

Every QR code carries extra, redundant data on top of its actual content specifically so a scanner can still read it if part of the code is dirty, scratched, or covered by a logo. The four standard levels — Low, Medium, Quartile and High — trade code density for how much damage the code can tolerate: Low recovers about 7% of the code, Medium about 15%, Quartile about 25%, and High about 30%. This tool defaults to Quartile, a solid middle ground for a screen or a printed flyer, and automatically switches to High the moment you add a center logo, since the logo itself is effectively "damage" the scanner has to work around.

Styling a QR code without breaking it

A QR scanner only needs to reliably tell dark modules apart from the light background — it doesn't care whether those modules are drawn as squares, dots, or rounded shapes, or whether the color is navy, green, or a gradient. The one rule that actually matters is contrast: keep the pattern noticeably darker than the background. Two similar mid-tones (a medium blue pattern on a medium grey background, for instance) can genuinely confuse a scanner's camera in low light, even though the same colors look fine on a bright screen.

Why this tool never sees your data

Every field on this page — the URL, the Wi-Fi password, the logo image you upload — is read directly by JavaScript running in your own browser and turned into a QR code on your own device.
